In-Depth look at the 2019 4A State Championships
DAY 1: Riverside HS., Leesburg, VA; DAY 2: Robinson HS., Fairfax, VA

It was 12 years ago since the last time the Falcons wrestled at a State Championship in Northern Virginia. That is right, Fauquier was classified as a AAA school and the VHSL State Championship was at Robinson HS.

For eight years Fauquier wrestled States in Salam Virginia and the 4A State has moved on from Churchland HS. in Chesapeake last year’s host. The 2019 NEW location for 2019 will be Riveside HS on day one of the State Championships and James Robinson HS. will host the second day.

Riverside HS. will run the first two Championship rounds on Friday, Feb. 15th and the Championship Semi-Finals and Championship Finals will be at Robinson HS on Saturday, Feb. 16th. The VHSL will bring together the 4A, 5A, and 6A classification for an exciting Final day of wrestling.

This 2-day event will feature each weight class running a 16-Man bracket for the 2019 VHSL State Wrestling Championships. The 4A State is made up of four Regions (A, B, C, and D) and at each weight class, each region qualified four wrestlers which makes up the 16-man field.

With four Regions, the state brackets will have four number 1, 2, 3, and 4 seeds as the number 1 and 4 seeds will be pairs up together and the 2 and 3 seeds respectively all having bouts during the first round of States.

If you are looking to come, come earlier and make sure you get a seat before it gets sold out.

With Great Bridge and Eastern View having the highest number of seeds do not be surprised to see both teams in control of the leader board after the first round of wrestling on Friday.

For team Fauquier, all will have a first-round bout. Fauquier have aligned with a number one seeds, four number two seeds, and two third seeds. Based on how teams finished up at the Regions, wrestlers will carry that same placement over to the 16-Man bracket.
