Fisher and Raymond Earn Top placement at Front Royal Rumble - Super32 Qualifier

On Saturday, September 23, seven of the Fauquier High School wrestlers competed at the Front Royal Rumble at Skyline HS. in Front Royal VA, in hopes to qualify for the national Super 32 Challenge in North Carolina in October.

Congratulation to Sam Fisher (182lbs) who wins the 2017 Front Royal Rumble. Fisher's box score of his matches are list below:

Champ. Round 1 - Sam Fisher received a bye () (Bye)
Quarterfinal - Sam Fisher won by fall over Wyatt Gehman (Fall 1:39)
Semifinal - Sam Fisher won by decision over Charlie Swain (Dec 10-6)
1st Place Match - Sam Fisher won by decision over Simeone Holmes (Dec 8-5)

Tyler Raymond also battled going 3-1 and earned a third-place finish. By taking 3rd place Raymond qualified for the Super 32 tournament.

The Front Royal Rumble qualifier was almost sold out with 336 High School wrestlers competing as many weight classes were aligned with a 32-man field. Wrestlers from VA, as well from WV, MD, PA, and NJ where in attendance.

126 - Tyler Grey (0-2)
132 - Ethan Jordan (3-2)
132 - Kyle Budd (4-2) ** Already previously qualified with his 2nd Place Finish at 4A states
145 - Joe DeGallo (3-2) ** Already previously qualified with his 4th Place Finish at 4A states
170 - Sam Fisher 1st place (3-0) ** Already previously qualified with his 1st Place Finish at 4A states
195 - Kevin McEachin (0-2)
220 - Tyler Raymond 3rd place (3-1)
