Consolation 3/4 and 5/6 Finals Update: Fauquier @ 4A State Championships
Salem Civic Center, Salem, Virginia

After three days of wrestling and the conclusions of the two opening Consolations Finals rounds Saturday morning, Salem Civic Center, Salem VA, will now host one more round as the best two wrestlers in the state will go head to head in the Championships Finals.

Going into these Consolation rounds Fauquier had 3 wrestlers on deck as all state wrestlers competing would be fighting to stand on the podium somewhere between the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th placement.

As Fauquier trailed Eastern View by 3.5 team points Saturday morning any win in these rounds at this point would help Fauquier and could be the difference in a team gold of a three peat.

As Consolation Semi-Finals taking place Saturday morning team Fauquier posted a 1-2 record. The complete bouts are listed below as Joe DeGallo gave team Fauquier 4 points to push the Falcons to a 115.5pts. team points.

Consolation Semi Finals results:

132 Joe DelGallo won 3-1 decision over Cliff Conway of Courtland
138 Robert Creamer of Dominion won 6-3 decision over Cam Franklin
195 Josiah Murphy of Liberty Christian won in sudden victory - 1 over Jackson McEachin (SV-1 3-1)

Eastern View earned 6 team points in the Consolation Semi and held the lead as Great Bridge also made a jump into second place with a team score of 116pts just a 1/2 team point over Fauquier with 115.5pts.

Losing in the Consolation Semi-Finals had both Cam Franklin and Jackson McEachin battling for 5th place while Joe DelGallo competed and wrestled for 3rd place.

3rd, 4th , 5th and 6th Place Finals results:

132 Blake Justis of Jefferson Forest won 8-3 decision over Joe DelGallo. DelGallo then finishes in 4th place.
138 Hunter Rankin of Chancellor won 3-1 decision over Cam Franklin. Franklin finishes in 6h place.
195 Stephen Brown of Chancellor won in sudden victory - 1 over Jackson McEachin (SV-1 4-2). McEachin finishes in 6th place.

Preview of the 4A Championship Finals:

As Eastern View has five finalists (106, 113, 160, 170 and 182), team Fauquier having four (120, 145, 160, 170), and Great Bridge sits with three finalists (113, 132, 152) expect for this to be a Championship Finals for the record books.

A closer look and key match-ups will be the 113, 160, and 170 finals. 113 lbs will have Eastern View and Great Bridge going head to head as the 160 lbs and 170 lbs will have Fauquier and Eastern View in a head to head match-up.

Winning in the finals will give 4 team placement points as any one of the final and top three teams do have streak and can win.

The Championship Finals are scheduled to begin a 2PM.
