Fauquier County has now expanded and opened its doors to Middle School Wrestling. With the support and funding from the Fauquier Sports Foundation and a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Warrenton, the sport of wrestling can now be reached to all county youth in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Any Fauquier County middle school student can join this after school program.

FSF partners with the Boys and Girls Club
Years ago Fauquier County actually had a middle school wrestling program; however it evolved into an elite wrestling team that continues to compete in a Beltway league team within the Washington metro area. After several years of not having a middle school wrestling team, Fauquier Sports Foundation has moved to kick start a middle school wrestling program once again. One of the basic goals with this program is to reach out to those middle school children and provide them with another winter sports opportunity.

The Fauquier Sports Foundation was glad to find a home for this middle school team at the Boys and Girls Club of Warrenton, located at: 169 Keith Street. With this new partnership FSF and the Boys and Girls Club have joined hands to create an area to host this middle school practice. Currently practices are being held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6-8pm.

With a donation of a wrestling mat from Virginia Tech, a few hours moving weight equipment, and cutting and installing the wrestling mat within the Boys and Girls club by the Fauquier Sports Foundation and its members, the Fauquier Middle School team has taken flight and is ready for kids to join. Practice is in full swing and registration can be completed during practice time at the Boys and Girls club. For more information please contact: fmswrestlingcoach@gmail.com
