As the 2016-17 College wrestling season starts this weekend six alumni have continued to wrestle in College. This equals the same amount of Fauquier wrestlers dating back to the 2011-12 college season.

Daniel Ariola - Campbell Univ., Redshirting Sophomore, 125lb
Matt Raines - George Mason Univ., Sophomore, 149lb
Trevor Marable - Bellarmine Univ., Sophomore, 157lb
Garrett Tingen - George Mason Univ., Freshmen, 165lb
Clifford Harrison - Ferrum College, Freshmen, 184lb
Ian Carrillo - Apprentice School, Freshmen, 184lb

Both Matt Raines (2015) and Garrett Tingen (2016) are planning to have starting roles this year for GMU at their respective weight class. Matt at 157 and Garrett at 165. Sophomore Daniel Ariola had previously earned a partial starting spot at 125lb for the Campbell Camels and is getting some varsity mat time but will be redshirting this year. Sophomore Trevor Marable who wrestled for St. Catherine College last year has transferred to Bellarmine Univ. and is also planning on getting some varsity mat time. Grad Assistant last year Ian Carrillo will be wrestling for the Builders and Clifford Harrison has enrolled at Ferrum College and also wrestling.

Questions for Coach Fisher
Q: It’s great to see that Fauquier has six guys that will be wrestling this season – any reflection? "Absolutely. One of my primary goals is to prepare the guys while they are in high school for success at the collegiate level."

Q: It seems that both Raines and Tingen should be starting for George Mason Univ. – any thoughts about that? "We have a great relationship with George Mason and no doubt the success of previous Fauquier wrestlers Greg Flournoy and Ryan Hunsberger paved the way for Matt and Garrett. Being as close as Mason is to Fauquier, we will hopefully be able to catch some of their matches."

As the year just now getting underway we wish all the very best of luck and hope the winning continues. More information can be found in our   In College NOW section > >
